We came here for the bad experience that we read on reviews. Turned out all is really nice, the waitress is a very an old charming and friendly lady, we didn’t have any problems with ordering. She did her best and we appreciate we were helped. We just relaxed and chilled next for her river. I guess people just have to be nice to eachother and be understanding . The only minus point is that the outside tables are in need of cleaning, I guess one 90+ lady couldn’t catch up with all the works. Also, we have wished that the Apple taart can be better. It is more a cake though

A quaint, picturesque cafe with light bites, drinks and a variety of coffee and tea. The best part of this place is the setting on the canal with beautiful views all around. Run by a cute older couple who are so sweet.

So peaceful I came back twice. Solo female traveler recommended cash only, however affordable drinks. There’s a huge outdoor area at the back area, right by the waters edge. Run by two older people, who are ever so kind. I stopped by as I had an hour before my bus, and this place was a handy 15 mins walk away. Would absolutely come back here if I’m ever to visit the city again.

Not to be missed ! An afternoon drink overlooking the river and the stunning historic buildings is a must. The self service bar provides a wide variety of drinks and a few simple meals and all home made. The elderly owner makes you feel do welcome in what was a magnificent private manor house at one time

The service is an experience in itself (only cash allowed, service at the bar, etc.) BUT the location, the view, the context, and the selection of Belgium beers are amazing.

This is a fantastic place on a sunny afternoon. There is a very good assortment of drinks at a reasonable price. There are also some snacks available, but no meals. The lady in the bar that was taking the orders was very nice and welcoming. All the women in the the establishment were also very nice. The only thing that keeps me from giving a five star review is the man working there (like many other reviewers have commented). He is one of the most rude persons I have met in an establishment like this. If you take him away it will be absolutely perfect. Please note that they are only taking cash.
